2014 To-Read Book List

My to-read list is ever growing. I'm constantly adding to it as I find new books. While there's never an end in sight, it's still exciting to see that list grow as I receive recommendations from friends and family.

I previously mentioned that I had set a goal for myself to read 40 books in 2014. I have way more than 40 that I have yet to read that I already own. So, I've told myself that I can't buy anymore books until I finish the ones I already own. If they're gifted to me - well, now that's another story. ;)

So, here are the books on my to-read list for 2014:

Books that I've already finished this year:

The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman
I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Currently Reading:

Waking Up Married by Mira Lyn Kelly

What I have to look forward to the remaining of 2014 (in no specific order):

Fly Away Home by Jennifer Weiner
Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
Love, Lust & Faking It by Jenny McCarthy
Jemima J by Jane Green
American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld
Always Looking Up by Michael J. Fox
Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
Falling Star by Diana Dempsey
The Icing on the Cupcake by Jennifer Ross
Love The One You're With by Emily Giffin
Flat Out Love by Jessica Park
Never Tell by Alafair Burke
A Heartbeat Away by Harry Kraus
Mr. Maybe by Jane Green
Straight Talking by Jane Green

Wait For Me by Elisabeth Naughton
Heart of the Matter by Emily Giffin
Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult
Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner
Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
That Wedding by Jillian Dodd
The Fourth Sunrise by H.T. Night
Overexposed by Susan Shapiro
Blogger Girl by Meredith Schorr
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

The Next Always by Nora Roberts

What's on YOUR to-read list? Gimme your recs, I'm always looking for new books to add!

I'm going to have to remember this post as anytime I want to read, I never know what to pick up. I like funny lady memoirs, so if you haven't read Mindy Kaling's or Tina Fey's books, I would add those. They are funny and easy reads. I read Fault in our Stars and it was good, but I think everyone else's opinions made me expect more from it. And I loved Gone Girl until the end... Good luck on your list!

I hated Eat Pray Love. I stopped reading it because it felt so selfish and self-indulgent. I think I was the only person who didn't care for it, so don't nix it because of me. Haha!! I've only read a few on that list so I don't have any other opinions. Haha

Let's Pretend this Never Happened is hilarious...you're going to love it! Have you read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children yet? I'm reading it right now and I can't put it down!

I have an ever-changing list, and then I keep adding things to my Kindle so then I can't remember the list anymore. My goal for the year is just to make more time to read instead of watching bad tv.

I have such a hard time picking books to read! I guess maybe I'm too picky :)

I always say I'm going to make a book reading list...and then I start and realize that I can't pick that many books at once...lol!

So many great books - and I suggest that you go straight to those Nora Roberts books because you will fall in love with all 3 of the storylines in it :)

You have some great books on this list. I loved Eat, Pray, Love....I keep it by my tub so I can just open it when ever I need a quick get away. I used to keep a copy of Under the Sun the same way. Enjoy!

I'm currently reading "Attachments" and it is perfect nighttime reading. Funny, easy, but engaging enough! I highly recommend "Dark Places" and "Sharp Edges", both by the author of "Gone Girl". They're SO GOOD!

Anything by Jane Green and Emily Giffen is good! They are my go-to gals. The James Frey book is really good (even if Oprah publicly shamed him!). His sequel to that book is also fantastic. I think it's called "My friend Leonard."

You definitely have a lot of books on your "To Read" list that I have read or that are also on my "To Read " list! I am currently reading "The Book Theif" and next up is "A Winter's Tale" or perhaps "The Return to Tradd Street" (my March book club book). I don't know if you read via some sort of E-reader... but if you do you should check out the website BookBub... I know I got some of the books on your list from there and they were free to download. BookBub has a ton of free or super discounted books that you can download for all the different e-readers!

A lot of good books on your list! I really liked American Wife (except for the last part...the flow of it didn't seem to fit with the rest of the book).

I have over 200 unread books on my Kindle (plus a number of paperbacks I have yet to read), so I'm also in a don't buy any books for a while mode.

Pinning this post so I can find it when I'm looking for some recommendations! You should check out Kelly Elliot and Molly McAdams, they are both awesome authors!

I've read Gone Girl! What did you think of it? I'm interested to see the movie when it comes out. I'm really wanting to read the Nora Roberts series about weddings!
