31 Days: Days 14 & 15 Recap

Hiya friends. Happy hump day. ;) Sorry about no recap yesterday. Since I was sharing my delicious recipe, I didn't want anything to overshadow that. So today, you get 2 days in one!

October 14th - Most restaurants I go to, whether it be a sit down or a fast food restaurant, I always notice a change or "tip" jar on the counter near the cash register. I never really pay much attention to them, normally because they don't have a whole lot in them. I went to Subway for dinner with my sister, and instead of ignoring the change jar, I left my change in there for the employees to hopefully split at the end of their shift. A little change is something I won't miss, so why not share??

October 15th - After a SUPER long day at work and running errands afterwards, I was crazy enough to go grocery shopping. It ended up being pretty late by the time I was finished, so when I was heading to check out, most of the checkout lines were already closed. The lines were long and I finally chose one and waited my turn. As my patience was wearing, I was getting closer to put my items on the conveyer belt. I glanced behind me and noticed the guy standing behind me only had 2 items. I told him to go ahead and go ahead of me. He said, "Are you sure? Thank you so much! Even the express lanes are crazy long." He was very glad to skip ahead of my cart full of groceries. I know what it's like to only have an item or two and be behind someone with a cart full, so I thought I'd let him cut and hope that one day he will do the same.

I will admit I love it when someone says I can go ahead of a cart full of stuff. I try to do that too but I usually get the people with a cart like mine behind me :)

I do that at the grocery store all the time, and people are always so appreciative! It's sad to me because they are usually just so shocked and surprised that a stranger would be so nice to them. We need more people like you!

I try to let folks with just one or two items go in front of me as well....and, I've had that offer made to me. It is a great feeling, on either end. Thanks for blogging about your kindness acts, they are inspiring me to do better at being kind, instead of being so focused on myself and what is going on with me that I don't notice anyone else.

One time I was in the express line with a basket and the guy behind me had nothing in his hands. He just needed to buy cigarettes, so I let him go ahead of me. It was nice to help his day out a little.

It is so nice when people let you go ahead when you only have a couple of items. (Especially if their patience is already earning thin! lol)
