31 Days: Day 9 Recap

Whew. I sure am glad it's Friday Eve. Thankfully this week has gone by pretty fast, but I'm still ready for tomorrow to get here. We've got a super fun weekend ahead of us. :)

As I've mentioned before, you can see all of my 31Days Recaps on this post if you so wish.

Guys, can I admit something? I know we're not even half way through, and I already feel like I'm running out of creative ideas. Throw some ideas my way if you would.

I was panicking a little bit because it was starting to get late and I hadn't done my act of kindness for the day, but I finally thought long and hard and came up with something pretty good. Read along...

October 9th - One thing I love and appreciate more than anything is an unexpected gift from a friend. I also LOVE giving unexpected gifts. Ones that I know they'll use and appreciate. Ones I put good thought into.

I decided I was going to gift a friend a book from their to-read list on GoodReads.

The friend I chose reads A LOT. She even hosts a book club link-up every Friday. You should probably link up if you like to read like us.

So, anyway. I chose a book on her to-read list and crossed my fingers that she doesn't already own it.

Be sure and go visit my hoecake - I'm sure she'll review the book on her blog for you! ;)

That's super sweet. Did you see Starbucks is doing an Act of Kindness promo this weekend? I thought of you! Buy coffee for a stranger, get a free tall brewed coffee on them.

Hmmm, ideas... leaving notes in random places (books at the bookstore), carrying a few ziploc bags of dog food to give away to homeless people with pets, cleaning out your house for extra stuff to donate and hand deliver it, or donating your time? Good luck - I think you're doing great!

I love random gifts. Should we be gift buddies?!

OOOO Lauren has some great ideas, I really love the dog food one. I'd also venture to bet that you do things everyday that would qualify....like just saying thank you to someone (i envision fast food employee) who is normally overlooked. What about volunteering at a soup kitchen?

That was a very sweet thing to do for your friend! Most book lovers would agree :) Here are some ideas: babysit a friends' child while they run an errand, walk a neighbor's dog, make goodies for your public safety departments (including fire, police, and police dispatch), donate your old books, make bookmarks for your avid reader friends...Just some thoughts :)

That's a super creative idea!! Just FYI, I heard the Starbucks CEO is giving away free tall coffees for people who offer to buy someone else's drink this week...I wouldn't judge you if you used this random act again :)
