31 Days: Day 6 and {WEEKEND!} Recaps

Hiya girls! (and maybe a gentleman or two) I hope you guys all have a fabulous Monday. I know my weekend went by way too fast, like always, but I sure did enjoy the cold front that came through. Texas finally feels like fall!

Okay, today you're getting two posts in one. I am sharing my 31Days post and because it's short and sweet, I'm also sharing my weekend recap here too. :)

October 6th - We live in a world where technology has taken over. We text and email more than we call and write. For most people in my generation, that's easy to accept. It's second nature. But to the older generations? It's not as easy. Take for instance my grandparents. Sure, they're facebook and email savvy, but I know my Nana misses my weekly letters or random cards. She tells me all the time. ;) When I was a kid, we were penpals. :)

So, this weekend I dug out some cute cards from my ever growing stationery collection and hand wrote a few notes to some special people in my life. I know I enjoy getting "good mail" and by good mail, I mean NOT bills. ;) So, I today I will mail off the cards and hope they feel joy when they see some good old fashioned snail mail arrive from me.

This weekend was a fun one. For the most part. Okay, so Saturday day was the only FUN day if we're being honest.

Friday night, we didn't do anything super exciting. I made dinner (we usually go out for dinner on Fridays) but we felt like staying in. Nate did bring home Jeopardy though for the PS3, so we stayed pretty busy with that. #nerdstatus

We watched This Is The End (which I highly recommend if you're a fan of those guys!) It was really funny. and then we called it a night.

Saturday I pretty much planned to veg on the couch for most of the day. Nate watches college football all day, so I kinda read, blog, or whatever. Well as I was thinking to myself, "I should paint my nails today" Neely texts me and asks me if I want to meet up with her for a manicure. Perfect timing!

So off I went to have some girl talk and treat myself to a fab fall manicure. It was much needed and the perfect hour away from the house for a little me time.

I picked up Panera for lunch and came back home to hang with Nate. After lunch, we headed out for groceries. I don't know what it is, but I really love grocery shopping. I know, I'm weird. I also really love going with Nate. I look forward to our weekly trips to the store together. I don't know why, it's just fun. :)

Once we got home, we got ready to head out to the movies. We saw Gravity and it was AMAAAZING. Seriously y'all. Go see it. And see it in 3D if you can. It was so worth it!

Came home, one of Nate's friends came over for a couple of beers and he even brought an extra PS3 controller so we could all play Jeopardy. ;)

And then all of a sudden, I got so stopped up. I was sneezing a million times in a row, my eyes were all puffy, I couldn't breathe through my nose, and my sinuses were swollen. I felt like I'd been hit by a truck.

So after I showered, I went to bed and slept for 12 hours. I probably would've kept sleeping, but Nate came to check on me since I never sleep that late so I went ahead and got up. I stayed in my PJs all day, and laid on the couch with a pillow and blanket all day. I feel a little better, but still not 100%. I just feel exhausted.

Here's to hoping this day goes by fast so that I can go home and get some more rest!

How was your weekend??

This is the End is on our way today to use via Netflix. Keith has been dying to see it so I'm going to go with your thoughts and hope I enjoy it :)

Hope you're feeling better today! I love hand written notes and know your friends and family will appreciate them. You're the second person to recommend Gravity so now I definitely need to see it!

I wish I loved grocery shopping because I, well, I HATE it. Ugh!
Manicure with your girlfriend sounds so fun! I totally need to take some time to myself and do something like this with my girlfriends!
What a great weekend :)

LOVE your idea of sending hand written cards and letters. I try to send my family mail every other week or so- I know they really appreciate it! :)

Sounds like the perfect hang out weekend! I love grocery shopping, but only when the store is more or less empty and I don't have to fight the crowds. Also, I like going alone cause when my hubby comes, we always spend waaaaayyyyy more money! He's like a kid throwing stuff in the car left and right!

Donny and I watch jeopardy every night! It's one of my favorite things. And that's so cute that you were penpals with your grandma! Gravity scares the bejeezus out of me. I can't handle outer space stuff!
