Book Club Friday #34

I have a confession to make...

I miss linking up with Heather and Katie for Book Club Friday.

So today I'm back at it!

Today, I'm sharing Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard.

Well, I'm sharing the first 5 books of the series.

Three years ago, Alison disappeared after a slumber party, not to be seen since. Her friends at the elite Pennsylvania school mourned her, but they also breathed secret sighs of relief. Each of them guarded a secret that only Alison had known. Now they have other dirty little secrets, secrets that could sink them in their gossip-hungry world. When each of them begins receiving anonymous emails and text messages, panic sets in. Are they being betrayed by some one in their circle? Worse yet: Is Alison back? A strong launch for a suspenseful series.

I have been watching the show, Pretty Little Liars since it began. For the longest time, I didn't realize there were coordinating books. Then, I got the books but decided to wait on reading them. On a few of the season finales of the show, I was confused with some things. I was finally told that I needed to read the books and some of the things would make sense. I quickly started reading, and I love the books. The main story line is the same, but a lot of minor details are totally different. It threw me off easily, and while I was reading the books I would get a little confused when I watched the show each week. HAHA! Now that the show is off until next month, I'm going to try and finish the series.

These are super light, easy reads. Guilty pleasure reading, if you will. If you're a fan of the show, you should definitely pick this series up!

And don't forget to friend me on GoodReads!

I always wondered if the books were any good. I do enjoy the show, so it might be worth my while to actually read the books. I don't watch the show religiously, but might have to after I read the books!

They covered like the whole first book in the first episode, pretty much. I have yet to pick up the rest of the books, but I caught up with the show and can't wait for October!! :)
