My weekend started off earlier than normal. Typically, that would be awesome, right? Well this was unfortunate circumstances.
Let me back it up for ya a minute first.
Monday night (one week ago) I tried out a new team training class at my gym. It was very intense, and I just knew I'd be sore the next day.
As predicted, I woke up Tuesday morning sore ALL OVER. I wasn't shocked. Wednesday morning, I noticed that my left arm was much more sore than any other part of my body. I couldn't bend it straight, and it seemed swollen. I kinda blew it off because I'm right handed, so I thought it could've been because it was my non-dominant arm.
Thursday morning, I woke up in PAIN. I wasn't just sore anymore, this was pain and it worried me that my arm couldn't straighten out. I called my PCP and she set me up an appointment with an orthopedic right away. Went to see him and he diagnosed a small tear in my brachioradialis muscle.
Basically I was given muscle relaxers and given orders to not do any heavy lifting. Which I don't anyway. He also put me in this lovely splint to wear for the next "2-3 weeks". I put this in quotations because this thing is already on my last damn nerve.
Hottest new accessory, right?
I go back for follow-up in 2 weeks to make sure it hasn't gotten any worse, and a possible MRI if needed.
Oh, and he also told me to go ahead and take the rest of the week off of work to keep my arm at rest. You don't have to tell me twice to stay home! ;)
So Friday, I took advantage of sleeping in, paid rent, ran a couple of errands which included grocery shopping. Which isn't easy to do with one arm, just in case you didn't already know.
That night, Nate and I went down the road to Rusty Taco for dinner. It's becoming our Friday night ritual, and I kinda love it. :)
I posted this pic on IG, and both Whitney and Katie said Nate looks like Marky Mark! Never heard that before, but I guess I can kinda see it now. Grrrrrr. ;)
Saturday morning, we woke up at a decent time, and I made us mini egg casserole cups for breakfast.
My absolute favorite part of the weekend is lounging around on the couch with breakfast and coffee in the mornings. I have no rush to get ready or be anywhere. I get to actually enjoy my coffee, and it is pure BLISS.
We lounged around the house until it was time to get ready to go out for an early birthday dinner for my little sister.
After a late start to the night, we finally all got together at the restaurant. Here's me with my little sister, and her best friend. I love the way this picture turned out. I may have to get it framed for Casey. :)
Dinner was at Dick's Last Resort, and if you haven't been there before. You must go. It's an experience! Everyone at the table gets a funny hat that we have to wear for dinner.
Yes, mine says "Can't dance without a pole" and Nate's says "So skinny and white you could snort me off of a mirror" - I DIED when our waitress put Nate's hat on him. I was cracking up. It was a blast.
We were even able to bring in a cake for her. Being the amazing big sister that I am, I got her favorite cake and 24 pink candles. :) She was so happy!
Afterwards, we headed out to a bar near my apartment for a couple of drinks. Then decided it'd be cheaper to go back to my place and drink. So, we brought the party to my place. Where we continued to drink and play drinking card games until we were all to the point of passing out for sleep. Everyone left the apartment around 3 am, and Nate and I crashed!
Sunday morning we slept much later than we typically do.
We made it a day of cleaning up. I prepped lunches for this week at work. Prepped veggies that are needed to dinners this week. We bathed Binky, and we did some laundry. I made homemade spaghetti meat sauce for dinner. (I plan to post this recipe this week) which was delicious.
I was seriously in my PJs, with my feet propped up on the coffee table, while my babe vacuumed the apartment. I just felt so lucky. :)
Now, we're watching the new Family Guy, and I'm trying to keep my blogging momentum going so that I can get a few more posts for this week done and scheduled.
How was your weekend? Do anything fun?
