That time I blogged about a skirt

I was perusing the aisles at Old Navy with my little sister. I had nothing in mind that I needed to buy, but of course I'll still looking because I just know that there is something out there on those racks that I NEED in my closet. ;)

So while my sister is in the dressing room, I see a skirt across the way, and in a weird way I'm just drawn to it. I mean, it's way cute, and there's a sign above the rack stating that the skirts on the rack are 25% off right now. That's all I need in order to be sold. A deal? okay, it's mine.

I grabbed it off the rack and didn't even try it on. I just bought it and took it home thinking of which shirts I already own that would match my new skirt perfectly. I was really excited.

Oh, it was also a maxi skirt. Do you know how hard it is for a girl who is less than 5 foot tall (that's me!) to find a maxi skirt?? It's incredibly hard, just in case you were curious.

I get home and go to take off the tags and hang it up in my closet when I see that I had in fact purchased a maternity skirt. At first, I thought, OMG how embarrassing? And what if it fits? OMG I'll just die.

Then I got to thinking.. is there really a difference between maternity clothing and non-maternity clothing? It's all the same, just some stretches more, right? I mean, I feel like that's logical.

So then, I just said eff it. I don't care if this is maternity because you know why? It's the most amazing piece of clothing I've ever put on my body. I may even continue wearing maternity clothes if I wanna!

And ya know what. I'm gonna keep wearing it. I may even peruse the maternity aisles on PURPOSE. Who knows. All I know is I'm comfortable and still felt cute. Those are 2 important qualities to me, in what I wear. So, I'm happy.

You definitely don't have to be pregnant. ;)

haha love it.. I have maternity pants thats I still wear...Maternity jeans are the best.. They all look like really good jeans but they have the stretch in the right places.. and they help keep all your wobbly middle bits in check! Instant slimming my friend!

I think it's cute!

It was good for your height? I always feel dumpy in maxi skirts.

Adorable!!! Yeah, maternity skirts just have a little more give and they can sit lower on your hips. Not much different. The pants are what's different. But that will be obvious if you ever try them on. LOL

Maternity clothes are cute! I once found myself looking at dresses in the maternity section (not even realizing what section I was in) because they were much prettier than in the regular section!

Love the skirt!

Ahhh who cares if it's maternity?! It looks adorable! And the fold-over fabic actually helps make i easier to customize it to a better length for us short girls!!! :) Love it!

I've actually done that myself on accident and I never returned it either. They ended up getting too big on me so I use it as pjs but still they are quite comfy!

It's a cute skirt!! This happened to me once; I was in a pinch when I started a new job and needed black pants (not dress pants, but black pants) I ran into target, grabbed the first pair I found, ripped the tags off (leaving them on the floor of the living room) and zipped off to work. Got a call from my roommate later that afternoon wondering why there were maternity tags on the floor and if I was pregnant! Most comfortable pants ever, though!!

Haha-- this is funny. Just Sunday night, I was online shopping for a chevron maxi skirt. Where did my google search take me? To an old navy maternity skirt!!! Lol. I thought that was ridiculous, but now I'm thinking I should go buy it! Hahhaha

I once bought 2 shirts from Target's Liz Lange line with out knowing. At first I was embarassed to but I got over it quick considering how cute they were. My friends are all pregs now and I'm kind of jealous at some of their super cute dresses from Old Navy maternity section!

I laughed at this post. Maternity clothes are DEF more comfortable than regular clothes. It's ironic though that after I had M, I wanted to get back into my regular clothes immediately. Now that I'm pregnant again, I only want to wear maternity skirts/dresses, which I can't because our weather is similar to the arctic tundra.

I've actually bought a few maternity pieces myself. My favorite khaki trench is from Target's maternity line. I also have a few skirts from Old Navy's maternity line. I agree, it's basically the same thing, just a bit more roomy.

Erin loves her maternity jeans still lol, I guess you've outlined the reasons why!

You are cracking me up! And that's definitely unknowingly happened to me on a few occasions.

Totally comfy, and totally my little secret! :)

You go girl! I actually used to have a friend who wore maternity shirts because she thought they made her boobs look better, all while concealing that pesky stomach pooch we all HATE. And ya know what? She was right! I've definitely perused the maternity section a time or two in my life :)

I accidently bought my mom a maternity shirt once and she was pissed! But the thing is I had no idea and it was super cute. Target totally has cute maternity clothes! And I agree, it just stretches more so who cares?! :)

Awesome! I have bought a maternity shirt before, and I didn't even notice. My mom did when she went to fix my tag one day. Two peas or something. I just said I have big boobs and this shirt worked! Hahah

ha! it's super cute and no one would ever know it's maternity!

It's a really cute skirt! Great find. I think maternity clothes are just more stretchy. And with a skirt like that, I doubt there's even a difference!
