Weekend Update!!!

It's been a couple of weeks since I posted my weekend update with Sami, Dana and Leeann. This weekend was pretty eventful, so why not fill y'all in? :)

Oh, and P to the S - the Shabby Apple giveaway winner is Miranda! Congrats girl, I'll email you today!

Friday:

After work, I headed to the store to pick up some goodies to cook for over the weekend. Not only do I enjoy cooking, but I just know that Nate and his roomie love it when I do. Let's face it - guys typically don't cook a lot for themselves.

I came home from the store, and I started whipping up some beef stew. It's not really cold enough for it yet, but I was craving it. And seriously? It's fall, so I thought it was semi-appropriate. :)

It turned out SO yummy, as usual. There were no leftovers because the boys scarfed it down.

After dinner, we just hung out on the couch watching TV until I fell asleep super early as usual. I'm so lame on Friday nights it's not even funny!

Saturday:

I woke up early, and I was going to make breakfast. I wanted to wait until Nate was awake though. So, I played on my phone (read: caught up on my twitter feed) until he woke up. By the time he woke up, it was kinda too late to start making breakfast since we were meeting friends for lunch in a couple of hours.

Instead, we opened up my caramel pumpkin pie coffee and celebrated National Coffee Day! ;)

Coffee fills me up most mornings, so we basically just had this for breakfast. It was soooo good. Like fall in a cup! I will definitely have to buy more once I run out. Nate's mom got me this from World Market, if you're curious.

Our friends called to tell us they were headed our way, so Nate and I rushed around the apartment getting ready. We were still lounging around in our PJs like the lazy bums that we are.

Since it literally rained ALL DAY, I was not messing with straightening my hair only to get it ruined the second I stepped outside.

So, I "scrunched" it. I don't typically do my hair like this a lot, but I may have to start it up again. It is just so easy and quick!

Yes, that would be Nate photo bombing in the background. He's a dork.

We headed out to lunch with our sweet friends, Tim & Sarah. Who proceeded to tell us that they were expecting!! It was such exciting news, and I was so happy to see their sonogram. They've been married for a while now, and have been trying for a baby so this was wonderful!

I was also honored that Nate and I were the first friends they told. :)

After lunch, we all headed to Ikea where I made an idiotic comment. We were walking around looking at everything, and I said, "Why is everything on the labels in Swedish?" They all started laughing at me like I was kidding. I said, "No, I'm dead serious." Yep, I had no idea. They had to tell me that it was a Swedish store or whatever. Oops!

After heading home and drying from the downpour, Nate and I watched some TV before we were heading out to dinner with my BFF and her new boyfriend.

We had a blast, as always. I was excited for Nate to meet the new BF, and they actually got along very well. Nate even suggested that we get together more often on weekends. Score! BFFs dating BFFs ;)

After we headed home, I was not feeling that well, so I laid down and watched Friends while Nate finished up the Tech game. I fell asleep early, like always.

Sunday:

I woke up and got to making coffee and breakfast for us. We were very much looking forward to having a lazy Sunday.

Is that not the cutest coffee mug you've ever seen? One of my friends gave it to me for my birthday, and I absolutely love it. Makes me happy when I drink out of it. :)

For breakfast, I made mini egg casseroles and we watched lots of TV until I headed over to see my sister and hang out with her for the night.

Did lots of homework, slept and now I'm here wishing this week to fly by! :)

How was your weekend?

Also, linking up with Meg for Mingle Monday!

The Ikea store story is funny...that's probably why they're famous for their Swedish meatballs, too. :P
