Like I've said before, I am by no means a beauty expert. I feel very inexperienced actually, when it comes to hair and makeup. Especially beauty products. I wish I knew more, but whatev.
I'm just here to share what I like and what works for me! :)
After I've cleansed my face, I start with a concealer. I usually have a breakout going on that I want to cover up, so concealer is a must for me. In the past year, I stumbled across Bare Minerals and fell in love.
I start with the concealer in summer bisque. I was color matched at Sephora, so go ahead and do that yourself.
I put this on any zits or red spots I have. I put it under my eyes too because I have been blessed (sarcasm) with lovely under eye circles, and they are DARK. It does it's job pretty well there, but I feel like it could give me a bit more coverage on the under eye area. However, on the redness and zits, it makes them virtually invisible. It's amazing.
Next I use the Bare Minerals original loose foundation in Medium.
When I went in looking for a foundation/powder, I was adamant on NOT buying liquid. I hate the texture and I always feel like it makes my face look cakey. I have always been one to wear makeup that makes me look like I'm not wearing any. I don't want to be the girl who looks like a totally different person when she takes her makeup off.
I don't wear eyeshadow every day, but when I do I always use my Urban Decay Naked Palette. If you don't already own this palette, I highly suggest going out and splurging on one for yourself. You won't use anything eyeshadow again - I know I haven't.
Typically the colors I use are Virgin, Naked, Buck, Half Baked and Smog. Like I said, I'm no expert, so I still haven't mastered the "blended" look or even the smokey eye. I tend to stick to more earthy tones that look well on me. :)
After I apply my eyeshadow and curl my lashes (this is a must, I feel off kilter if I skip this step!), I throw on my mascara and eyeliner.
Now, I'm not prejudice to mascara brands. I will pretty much use any and every brand. It's my favorite product to experiment with. I have found that the brands you can find at drugstores (Maybelline/CoverGirl) usually work best, and for less than $10 a tube, it's a win-win!
Right now, I'm currently using Falsies by Maybelline. I looove it. I have a couple of tubes stashed too for when I run out of it.
I'm very picky about my eyeliner. I had the hardest time looking for one that didn't run by mid-day or every time I sneezed or my eyes watered. Finally, I came across TechnaKohl in Graphblack by MAC.
I haven't used another eyeliner since. It goes on SO smooth and lasts all day. I typically only have to reapply if I've sweat a lot that day, otherwise it stays in tact and looks great.
At $15, I do feel like it's a bit steep of a price, but it's totally worth it. This little pencil lasts a LONG time. Promise.
Then of course I top it with a pretty, shiny gloss. There's something else I'm not picky about. I have TONS of chapsticks, lipsticks and lip glosses, so I just grab whatever I'm feeling that day. :)
Do you have any product recs for me? Do you use any of the same products that I do?
