Tat tat tatted up!

Awhile back when I wrote this post, I had mentioned that I have 6 tattoos. This got me a lot of comments and questions about what my tattoos were and where they were located.

I told everyone I'd blog about them soon enough. Well, it's been a while (sorry!) but I finally got around to getting someone (thanks Mom!) to take pictures of my tattoos so that I could write this post for y'all.

So, here goes nothing!

Disclaimer: I know that not everyone "agrees" with tattoos. Or they think they are "trashy". That is your opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own. But please, if you don't like my tattoos, keep your mean-hearted comments to yourself. This is MY blog, and I blog about me and my life. Thank you!

I got my first tattoo at 17, and I've blogged about the back story on that one. It's QUITE the story. You can read that HERE.

Why yes, it is a "tramp stamp". I'm cool. It also hurt like a bitch, the first time around. The second time wasn't near as painful. Probably because it was done the right way.

My 2nd tattoo I got when I was actually legal to get one on my own. I was 18 and I went in with my boyfriend at the time because he was getting one. Well, I decided I did too. I wanted a Chinese symbol, and the one I really wanted was $60. I remember the tattoo artist telling me the minimum was $40. Being 18 and broke, I asked which ones were $40, and picked from those. Yeah, really meaningful there.

This one is on my left shoulder blade, and it means strength. Or like my little sister says, it's an upside down 4. Didn't hurt at all. I barely felt him back there. Most likely because it took less than 10 minutes.

My 3rd tattoo, I got when I was 19. One of my best friends and I wanted matching tattoos. I had been wanting a foot tattoo, and really like the idea of stars. I had a mental picture of what I wanted, and I didn't exactly get that. The stars were supposed to have a very thick outline..

It's on the top of my right foot. People always ask if it hurt being on my foot. No, not bad at all. It felt more like a cat scratching me over and over. This one welted up really bad afterwards though.

I was 19 when I got my 4th one too. My mom's friend was having a "tattoo party" and she had a tattoo artist she knew personally coming to her house to give her friends tattoos at a discounted price. My mom was getting her one and only tattoo fixed from when she was 20, and I wanted something a little similar to hers.

This one is on my right hip. It didn't "hurt" too bad, but I remember it kinda sorta tickling. I know that sounds weird, but I couldn't stay still the whole time he was tattooing me. It was a very sensitive spot.

My 5th tattoo, I also got at 19. That was clearly my rebellion year. I went to visit some friends with my sister over Spring Break in Georgia, and while there I decided, hey why not get another tattoo? I'm spontaneous like that. I wanted my zodiac sign, but it took me a while to decide where. Even though I only had 4, I felt like I was running out of tattoo spots. I wanted to keep them in areas I could easily cover up.

I decided on that hollow spot next to your ankle, as opposed to right above it which is what it normally seen. This is probably my favorite tattoo. It's cute, I am a leo through and through, and I LOVE the location. It wasn't comfortable at all, especially the closer he got to my ankle.

My 6th (the last one) tattoo I got when I was 20. My best friend and I wanted matching tattoos. So original, I know. We got to the tattoo parlor and decided on Chinese symbols. (yes, again) We didn't want something like "BFF" so we got "love" instead. Oh, and P.S. don't mind my broken blood vessels/spider veins in the picture below. I have them all over my upper back, and have since I was a little bitty baby.

This is on my upper back, right below my neck. Jill was supposed to get it in the same spot, but she was chicken and got it on her foot because she thought it would hurt less. It didn't hurt at all where I got mine.

And yes, I know that my Chinese symbol tattoos actually mean Strength and Love. I've asked people who speak Chinese. ;)

So there you have it. I've now bared my soul to you all, haha!

Do you have any tattoos? I'd love to hear about them!

Haha, I too, have a tramp stamp. :) I love it. It's exactly what I wanted but I stil have moments where I'll catch a glimpse at it in the mirror and can't believe I ever got it. It was my one rebellion! I'm planning on getting my second and last tattoo this summer!

I have two tattoos. One of which is my tramp stamp that my husband bought me when I was 18. I love it and I do not think having a tattoo there makes you a tramp. What a horrible name for a tattoo in a particular spot. Whatevs.

My tramp stamp is four roses with vines intertwined on the sides. I also have another one on my shoulder. It's an Eeyore (as an angel) holding hands with a panda bear. It symbolizes my two daughters. One is an angel in Heaven and the other we call Miranda Panda as a nickname. My blog name is 'Of Pandas and Pirates' so pandas are a huge thing in my life.

Maybe I should make a blog post about my tattoos. :)

I love tattoos too! And I love all of yours! I currently have 2. I rose on the inside of my left wrist (in honor of my aunt who passed away..her name was Rosemary). And I have a single blue star on the top of my right foot! I want two more...might get them this summer. I want 3 little stars on the inside of my right wrist, and a cupcake on the back of my ankle..or the hollow part like you have it. Just a tiny little cupcake. haha. Hopefully this summer I can get them and then I will be done..I feel like I will have run out of spots too!

I have a 4 leaf clover on my right bikini line and I'd love to get "Love is patient, love is kind" on my hip. Chad says no more :(

I just have one, in the same spot as your Leo sign. It hurt like a bitch! But maybe I'm just a pansy. Mine was opposite with the pain though-it hurt more the closer he got to my Achilles tendon. My tattoo artist actually tried to convince me to get it someplace else, since he knew it would hurt so bad. I still got it! It's a pink ribbon for breast cancer. Both my mom and my grandma had it, and BEAT IT! I thought, if my mom and grandma can go through cancer and beat it, I sure as shit can get a tattoo for 15 minutes of pain. It hurt, but I LOVE it!

I love them! I really like hearing the stories behind tattoos.

I have two - one on the inside of each ankle. A heart on the inside of my rigt ankle and a celtic cross on the inside of my left ankle. I'm itching to get a peach blossom and paw prints across my foot.

Love your tatoos!!! And that you're a Leo like me!!! I've always wondered about getting a tatoo and since we can't get our letters tatted(I wanted XO on my ankle) I'd go for the zodiac symbol next. But I'm not cool enough for tatoos.

I love your tattoos! I love hearing tattoo stories and the meanings behind them. I don't think there's anything wrong with a "tramp stamp"or any other sort of tattoo.

I actually JUST wrote a blog post about something similar- that saying going around Pinterest "When people ask me why I don't have any tattoos, I say, why put bumper stickers on a Ferrari?" Anyway, check it out if you want: http://www.suzeblog.com
