Sisterly Love

My earliest memory in life is when my parents brought my little sister, Casey home from the hospital.

I am 22 months older than her. It always amazes me that at 2 months shy of 2 years old, I have my first memory. It seems so young, but she's always been one of the most important people in my life - so, it's no surprise that she's in the first memory I have in life.

I remember sitting on the couch with my dad's step-mom, my Grandma Earline. She was watching me while my dad was at the hospital with my mom. We were watching cartoons or something of that nature on TV, trying to pass the time.

I kept asking when the baby was going to be home. I was so excited to finally meet my sister that my parents had been talking so much about!

When my parents finally arrived, I was very excited and the first thing I wanted to do was hold her. I felt very proud when my mom and grandma situated me to where I was sitting all the way against the back of the couch, and placed my baby sister in my arms.

They sat very close by to make sure her head was held up properly and that I didn't drop her or anything.

I was so happy to finally meet the baby! I couldn't believe I had a baby sister all of my own!

From then on, I was so excited to have a living doll to play dress-up with, run around the house with, play in the treehouse with, play a little too rough with the kitties and antagonize our big brother and his friends.

As we got older, we fought more, but we always remained best friends. I wouldn't trade my baby sister for the world.

Casey, I love you to the moon and back, and I am so proud to say I'm your big sister!

I love this!!! I have 3 children & I pray they become close and remain that way through adulthood. Such a special bond I've never been able to have. I'm an only child and sometimes I long for a sibling!

Awww, how sweet :) I'm the oldest of 4 kids and have 2 younger sisters. Our relationship was exactly how you described yours-you fought, but still loved them and they were your best friends. I am SO close to my sisters now and wouldn't trade it for the world!
