Tat tat tatted up!

Awhile back when I wrote this post, I had mentioned that I have 6 tattoos. This got me a lot of comments and questions about what my tattoos were and where they were located.

I told everyone I'd blog about them soon enough. Well, it's been a while (sorry!) but I finally got around to getting someone (thanks Mom!) to take pictures of my tattoos so that I could write this post for y'all.

So, here goes nothing!

Disclaimer: I know that not everyone "agrees" with tattoos. Or they think they are "trashy". That is your opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own. But please, if you don't like my tattoos, keep your mean-hearted comments to yourself. This is MY blog, and I blog about me and my life. Thank you!

I got my first tattoo at 17, and I've blogged about the back story on that one. It's QUITE the story. You can read that HERE.

Why yes, it is a "tramp stamp". I'm cool. It also hurt like a bitch, the first time around. The second time wasn't near as painful. Probably because it was done the right way.

My 2nd tattoo I got when I was actually legal to get one on my own. I was 18 and I went in with my boyfriend at the time because he was getting one. Well, I decided I did too. I wanted a Chinese symbol, and the one I really wanted was $60. I remember the tattoo artist telling me the minimum was $40. Being 18 and broke, I asked which ones were $40, and picked from those. Yeah, really meaningful there.

This one is on my left shoulder blade, and it means strength. Or like my little sister says, it's an upside down 4. Didn't hurt at all. I barely felt him back there. Most likely because it took less than 10 minutes.

My 3rd tattoo, I got when I was 19. One of my best friends and I wanted matching tattoos. I had been wanting a foot tattoo, and really like the idea of stars. I had a mental picture of what I wanted, and I didn't exactly get that. The stars were supposed to have a very thick outline..

It's on the top of my right foot. People always ask if it hurt being on my foot. No, not bad at all. It felt more like a cat scratching me over and over. This one welted up really bad afterwards though.

I was 19 when I got my 4th one too. My mom's friend was having a "tattoo party" and she had a tattoo artist she knew personally coming to her house to give her friends tattoos at a discounted price. My mom was getting her one and only tattoo fixed from when she was 20, and I wanted something a little similar to hers.

This one is on my right hip. It didn't "hurt" too bad, but I remember it kinda sorta tickling. I know that sounds weird, but I couldn't stay still the whole time he was tattooing me. It was a very sensitive spot.

My 5th tattoo, I also got at 19. That was clearly my rebellion year. I went to visit some friends with my sister over Spring Break in Georgia, and while there I decided, hey why not get another tattoo? I'm spontaneous like that. I wanted my zodiac sign, but it took me a while to decide where. Even though I only had 4, I felt like I was running out of tattoo spots. I wanted to keep them in areas I could easily cover up.

I decided on that hollow spot next to your ankle, as opposed to right above it which is what it normally seen. This is probably my favorite tattoo. It's cute, I am a leo through and through, and I LOVE the location. It wasn't comfortable at all, especially the closer he got to my ankle.

My 6th (the last one) tattoo I got when I was 20. My best friend and I wanted matching tattoos. So original, I know. We got to the tattoo parlor and decided on Chinese symbols. (yes, again) We didn't want something like "BFF" so we got "love" instead. Oh, and P.S. don't mind my broken blood vessels/spider veins in the picture below. I have them all over my upper back, and have since I was a little bitty baby.

This is on my upper back, right below my neck. Jill was supposed to get it in the same spot, but she was chicken and got it on her foot because she thought it would hurt less. It didn't hurt at all where I got mine.

And yes, I know that my Chinese symbol tattoos actually mean Strength and Love. I've asked people who speak Chinese. ;)

So there you have it. I've now bared my soul to you all, haha!

Do you have any tattoos? I'd love to hear about them!

Fashion to Figure Review

I was recently contacted by Fashion to Figure and was given the opportunity to pick out an item from their website to review.

This company has so many cute things to choose from - clothing, jewelry and accessories.

I knew I wanted to check out their bags, and as I was browsing the accessories I came across the most adorable hot pink clutch that I knew I just had to have!

I let them know which product I wanted, and it was shipped to me in under 2 weeks in great packaging.

Is this color not fabulous? So much fun, and the perfect hue for Spring, in my opinion. It was a bit bigger than I had expected, but I still love it.

It even came with a linked strap if you wanted to carry it on your shoulder instead of as a clutch in your hand. I like versatile. :)

The inside has all sorts of different pockets, and is pretty large. Lots of room for your going out necessities.

Overall, I was very pleased with Fashion to Figure. They have exceptional customer service, great products and affordable prices. Can't be beat! :)

eMeals Review & Giveaway!

I was recently contacted by eMeals to review their meal plans, and I was very excited to do so! Not only have I been checking out this site for months, but I got to meet some of the lovely people who work for eMeals while I was at Blissdom.

Living alone, it isn't easy to make meals that I won't have leftovers for a week. It's hard to find recipes for 1-2 people, and even harder to shop that way and make sure you have the correct amount of each ingredient.

At eMeals, you don't have to worry about that. They have a meal plan that fits any family size needs! No matter where you grocery shop. Amazing, right?

eMeals - Dinner Done

I chose the Meal Plan for 2 at Walmart. And within minutes, I had a week's plan of recipes that would make just enough for 2 people. Each day had a different taste, and delicious recipe.

Not only that, but they include a grocery list as well! Because I chose Walmart, they told me the prices I would spend too. I love knowing ahead of time what I'm going to be spending on groceries!

If you've been looking for an easier way to meal plan/budget, then eMeals is definitely the way to go! Don't forget to enter BLISSDOM at checkout for 15% off!

Now onto the even more exciting stuff!

Today, I'm giving away a THREE MONTH subscription to eMeals. That's right.. 12 weeks of meal plans and grocery lists already done for you! That is what a lot of you need, I'm sure!

Just enter the giveaway using the Rafflecopter widget below, and you'll be entered for a chance to win!

Book Club Friday #12

TGIF lovelies!

Today, as per my usual Friday post, I'm linking up with Heather to share my most recent read.

This week, I'm reviewing Happy Ever After by Nora Roberts.

This is the final book in the Bridal Series quarter. You can also check out my reviews of the 1st book, 2nd book and 3rd book.

Book description from GoodReads:

As the public face of Vows wedding planning company, Parker Brown has an uncanny knack for fulfilling every bride's vision. She just can't see where her own life is headed. Mechanic Malcolm Kavanaugh loves figuring out how things work, and Parker is no exception. Both know that moving from minor flirtation to major hook-up is a serious step. Parker's business risks have always paid off, but now she'll have to take the chance of a lifetime with her heart.

My thoughts?

I really enjoyed this book, and the ending was a perfect way to tie up the series. It was the only book I actually cried while reading! Lots of true love, friendship and family to appreciate in this one. You won't regret reading this series, promise!

The Lucky One Movie Review

Having a boyfriend who works in the radio biz definitely has its perks. Not only do we get to go see awesome bands all summer, but I get to go to pre-screening events of movies.

Nate got passes for The Lucky One, and of course he wasn't going to go with me, so he got a couple for me and my best friend.

I was SUPER excited. I love everything I've ever read by Nicholas Sparks, and just knew this movie would be amazing from the second I saw the previews.

I was disappointed in myself for not reading the book beforehand though. I always read the book first before seeing the movie, and if I don't.. I won't end up reading the book. :-/

Anyway, the movie was starting at 7:30, and we were leaving as soon as we got off work in order to be there in time to get a good spot in line so that way we could have a good seat in the theatre.

We got there around 6:15, and were way far back in line. I was a little worried that we wouldn't get a seat, but the guy at the ticket check in assured us that the theatre we would be in holds 300 people, and he didn't think that many people were in line already.

Yeah.. that's a lot of people ahead of us.

After we got some popcorn, and waited in line for what felt like forever, it was finally our time to go in the theatre and get a seat in the 2nd row. Hello headache 10 minutes into the movie!

If you're not familiar with The Lucky One, IMDB describes it like this:
A Marine travels to North Carolina after serving three tours in Iraq and searches for the unknown woman he believes was his good luck charm during the war.

Not the most descriptive summary, but it tells you what you need to know.

This movie.. was captivating! Such an amazing love story that pulls at your heart strings. The characters in the book are relatable and lovable. I laughed, cried and felt anger throughout the whole movie.

My best friend did read the book.. and I won't give anything away.. but she said the ending was MUCH different. She told me what happened in the book, and yeah. Totally different ending. Not even close to the movie.

Buuuut, she still enjoyed it and actually said she really liked the way the movie ended as opposed to the book.

If you've read this book, I know you're looking forward to this movie. Even if you haven't read the book, go see the movie. You'll love it. Promise.

Besides, who doesn't appreciate a good love story? :)

Cell Phone Fun #8

Hey y'all! How was everyone's weekend? I hope you all had a fun and relaxing one.

I'm going to link up with Savanah and Ashlee to let you guys know how my weekend went. :)

On Friday, I had a half day at work so I met up with Nate's mom for some lunch and shopping.

After we devoured our Chick-Fil-A, she told me she wanted to buy me a new dress for a wedding I was going to the next day.

We headed into Forever 21 first, and of course I found PLENTY of things that I loved.

Here are 2 of the dresses I scored..

I picked out the coral colored one, and that's the one I actually wore to the wedding. While I was in the dressing room, Nate's mom said she saw a dress she thought would look great on me, and asked if I would try it on.

She handed me the green and black one. On the hanger, I wasn't the biggest fan, but I tried it on for her anyway. And? I loved it! It fit great and was very comfortable, so I added it to the bag too. :)

After our shopping trip, we headed back to Nate's to hang out with the boys for a while.

This is probably my new favorite picture of my sweet boys. Binky was just chilling on Nate's lap, and I said, okay I'm going to take a picture, babe smile and be normal. (I always have to tell him that so he doesn't act silly in the picture) and this is what I got.. I can't get him to be serious for the life of me. ;)

Friday night, we met up with some friends for dinner at this amazing Taqueria that I know I've blogged about before. Sadly, I got no pictures of this event.

Saturday, we woke up much earlier than I like on a weekend, but oh well. After watching a bit of TV, Nate had to get ready for work, so I headed out to lunch with my best friend.

We went to get pedicures afterwards, and she wanted to go to a new place she recently found. I was reluctant because I really like my nail ladies, but she insisted that I would love this new place. So, I agreed.

Amazing right?

I sat down in the pedicure chair, and there was a little bowl of strawberries and chocolates on the table. The lady asked, "Would you like a glass of white wine?" Um, do you even have to ask? Yes please!

Jillian just laughed and said, you love it don't you? I knew you would!

A pedicure while drinking wine? Let's just say I think I found my new nail salon. ;)

After we made a quick stop to Target, we headed back to my apartment to get ready for the wedding. Since Nate had to work, Jillian was my date. Best friend ever. :)

We had a lot of fun, and afterwards headed to Buffalo Wild Wings for some late night dinner and another drink.. as if I needed anymore!

I came home and passed out immediately after changing into my PJs.

Sunday, I woke up a bit early again, but lounged on the couch with Binky and watched Bride Wars on TV. It had been a nice, relaxing day. I definitely wasn't looking forward to work on Monday, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

How was your weekend?!

Book Club Friday #11

Woo, it's Friday the 13th!!! ;)

I've been doing really good at carving time out of my day for reading. Therefore, I've been able to link up with Heather more often, which I love!

Today, I'm reviewing Savor the Moment by Nora Roberts.

This is the 3rd book in a quartet series. You can read my review of the first book HERE, and my review of the second book HERE! ;)

Book description from GoodReads:

Wedding baker Laurel McBane is surrounded by romance working at Vows wedding planning company with her best friends Parker, Emma, and Mac. But she's too low-key to appreciate all the luxuries that their clients seem to long for. What she does appreciate is a strong, intelligent man, a man just like Parker's older brother Delaney, on whom she's had a mega-crush since childhood.

But some infatuations last longer than others, and Laurel is convinced that the Ivy League lawyer is still out of her reach. Plus, Del is too protective of Laurel to ever cross the line with her-or so she thinks. When Laurel's quicksilver moods get the better of her-leading to an angry, hot, all-together mind-blowing kiss with Del-she'll have to quiet the doubts in her mind to turn a moment of passion into forever.

My thoughts?

Well, considering I loved the first 2 books, I just knew I'd love this one as well. Annnd, I did! I think I liked this one the best so far. I feel like I relate best to Laurel out of all the girls, so this book was fun for me. If you enjoy a good love story, be sure to check this one out!

I know a lot of you have already read this series! Any other Nora Roberts books I should check out?

Be sure to follow me on Good Reads.. I'm addicted to that site.

Sisterly Love

My earliest memory in life is when my parents brought my little sister, Casey home from the hospital.

I am 22 months older than her. It always amazes me that at 2 months shy of 2 years old, I have my first memory. It seems so young, but she's always been one of the most important people in my life - so, it's no surprise that she's in the first memory I have in life.

I remember sitting on the couch with my dad's step-mom, my Grandma Earline. She was watching me while my dad was at the hospital with my mom. We were watching cartoons or something of that nature on TV, trying to pass the time.

I kept asking when the baby was going to be home. I was so excited to finally meet my sister that my parents had been talking so much about!

When my parents finally arrived, I was very excited and the first thing I wanted to do was hold her. I felt very proud when my mom and grandma situated me to where I was sitting all the way against the back of the couch, and placed my baby sister in my arms.

They sat very close by to make sure her head was held up properly and that I didn't drop her or anything.

I was so happy to finally meet the baby! I couldn't believe I had a baby sister all of my own!

From then on, I was so excited to have a living doll to play dress-up with, run around the house with, play in the treehouse with, play a little too rough with the kitties and antagonize our big brother and his friends.

As we got older, we fought more, but we always remained best friends. I wouldn't trade my baby sister for the world.

Casey, I love you to the moon and back, and I am so proud to say I'm your big sister!

Book Club Friday #10

TGIF girlfriends!

Have y'all noticed I've been linking up for Book Club Friday with Heather more often?

That's because I've been doing a pretty good job (if I do say so myself) at taking more time for myself and reading.

With a friend like Becca, it's hard not to be inspired to kick some serious book reading butt! That girl is hardcore. She has inspired me to add all my books to my "to-read" list and just get right through them!

So, today I'm sharing Across Eternity by Aris Whittier.

This was a book I found for free at the Kindle store. I read the "back of the book" and thought it sounded interesting enough. I downloaded it, and decided to give it a shot.

Book description from GoodReads:

Born a genius; education, wealth, and prestige came easy to Logan Richards. Actually, there wasn’t much that Logan couldn’t learn or acquire. However, he knew there was more to life than money and power. Logan was determined to find the woman who he'd dreamed of his entire life and know what it was like to love her before he died.

Amber Lewis, a waitress for a five-star restaurant in, Dana Point, California, was overworked, stressed, and wary of life since her sister, Heather, had passed away. Then, one evening while working she fell hopelessly in love with Logan Richards, a chivalrous man who felt deeply familiar.

For Amber, it was the beginning of a voyage of self-discovery and renewal. For Logan, it was the completion of life. For each of them it was the deepest sort of love.

My thoughts?

This book was amazing. I was honestly into it from the first page. It was all so interesting, and it kept me wanting more. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Some parts actually made me anxious because I couldn't read fast enough to see what was coming up. It was a wonderful love story, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in this genre and would like a quick read!

Have you read this book or any by this author?

Silly face much?

Today, I've got a little hump day fun for y'all.

I like to look through pictures a lot, just to reminisce and laugh about old times.

While looking through albums online, I find that more often than not I am making a ridiculously silly face.

So, in an attempt to clearly embarrass myself, HA, I am sharing a few funny faced photos.

Do you tend to "ruin" photos with silly faces too?
