New Year = New Goals

I've always made "resolutions" but typically make ones that are far-fetched or hard to attain.

I've already
blogged about a few I had thought of off the top of my head.

This past weekend though, I really thought long and hard about what I want to accomplish for myself in the year 2012.

I want to..

Treat myself once a month. Whether it be a pedicure, a massage or a fancy bottle of wine. I work too hard to earn money just to pay my bills. I should be able to use the money I work for on myself every now and then too.

Start couponing. I spend enough money on random things that I need to be more cautious about sales/coupons that are floating around the internet.

Stop being so judgemental. I hate to admit it, but I am a judger. I want to be nicer and not form my own "opinions" about people I don't even know all that well.

Cut back on fast food. It's way too easy to drive thru and grab something instead of going home to cook. Accomplishing this goal means I'll save money and lose a few pounds, maybe.

Take better care of myself. Each year, the closer I get to 30, the more aware I am of my body. I want to exercise more, even if it's just a 30 minute walk around the complex. I need to get more into the habit of washing my face every night and taking better care of my skin.

Take a vacation with Nate. Don't get me wrong, we've seen plenty of fun things together as a couple. BUT anytime we've gone somewhere, it's been to see family or attend a wedding. I want a vacation where we have nothing to worry about but having fun together and laying by the pool with drinks in hand.

Get my anxiety under control. If you know me, you most likely know I suffer from anxiety. I have a problem with letting it take over me at times. I need to learn how to manage it better and enjoy life instead of worrying so much about it.

I feel like this year, these are more attainable goals. I CAN do these. And, as my bloggy friends, I want you all to hold me accountable. :)

What goals have you set for yourself this year?

I don't really do resolutions, but I usually list two or three things I want to do or try in the new year. You can read about them over here:
http://unabashedly--me.blogspot.com/2012/01/looking-ahead.html

Also, I need to cut back on the fast food too. I'm trying to cook more at home and restrict fast food and meals out to once a week.

Good luck with all of your goals!

Mine are a little similar and I too have posted them so my friends can keep me accountable!
Time for myself and for me&hubby is important- keeps me sane.
I am going to try to be more laid back too. It is easy to get stressed when you have a lot going on and react quickly, but I am going to share your slogan to breathe deeply and let things go.
Good luck! And Happy New Year.
You can do it :)

I'm planning on cutting back on fast food too. I want to be able to cook at home with my hubby, instead of going out.

I try to coupon! It is hard though! I end up with tons of coupons and spending hours organizing them. I wish I knew how that crazy couponers do it!

I would like to treat myself more often when I get a job. Girls need to do that every once in awhile!

I am also trying to cut back on fast food. It's way too convenient.

Good luck with all your goals!!

LOVE the treat yourself idea.. I may just have to steal that one!

I started couponing a few months ago(not crazy person extreme couponing style) and it has saved us ALOT of money on groceries. I also did most of the Christmas shopping for the kids in our families online with discounts & such. I have saved alot, just by Sunday afternoon coupon clipping & watching for deals. Go for it! You'll be glad you did it!

awesome goals! I totally need to save money and eat out less too! I try and clip coupons but I never quite get around to it. I think I'll add that to a 2012 goal for myself, too :)

Your goals are awesome! My main goal is to be uncomfortable. I'm trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and reach for things that I wouldn't normally go for!

I'm all about getting a pedicure once a month!! Count me in! ;) hehehe...

I have anxiety problems too - so I'd really love to get that more under control as well!

But I really only made one firm resolution this year - to like and respect who I am and work to take better care of myself. I know that can encompass a lot of things, and that's why I made it just one big resolution.

Great goals!! Most of which I need to do too!!!

Whoa. Your list describes a lot of what I'd like to accomplish this year. Well, except for the vacay with Nate. Replace Nate with Adam and we're good. ;)

Just stopped by from the #BlissDom Twitter stream. So nice to meet you.

I don't make New Years Resolutions, instead I focus my intention on living my best life every day. In the moment it's easier for me to make good choices when I'm making them for this moment only.

By making little healthy and happy choices in the moment I am free to make mistakes, to learn and grow, and to make a positive choice at any time (like the moment after this one, and the one after that).

I like the saying "would you rather be right, or be happy?" because when I judge someone else, or myself, I don't feel happy. I might feel righteous, but not truly happy with myself.

When I think about it this way I realize I'd much rather be happy than judge- where has judgment ever gotten me anyway? No where good!

I have also been challenged by anxiety and it still creeps in from time to time. Hello, going to a blog conference filled with people I don't know- *gulp*!

Fortunately my anxiety has improved as I have practiced better self-care and learned to relax and go with the flow. It still catches me by surprise sometimes, but I know it will pass.

Have a grateful day!

Chrysta
