Book Club Friday #2

Okay, so I finally finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I've been reading it for a while, but not because it wasn't good.. I was just busy the past couple of weeks.

I am definitely planning on seeing the movie.

Here's the synopsis from Good Reads:

In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another. A deeply moving novel filled with poignancy, humor, and hope, The Help is a timeless and universal story about the lines we abide by, and the ones we don't.

This book was incredibly touching. I found myself getting involved with the characters and sincerely caring about them. I cried a bit, laughed and felt joy. I definitely recommend reading it if you haven't already!

Definitely one of the best books I read this summer. And one of the few movies that lived up to the book pretty well. Glad you enjoyed it! :)

I would love to read the book! I just hope the movie isn't so far fetched from the book like so many others are.

I loved the book! I read it in 3 days, then the next I went to the movie to see it, and was not disappointed at all! Funny, while I was reading it, I kept bumping into other women who were also glued to their copies.
