Oh how I love my followers!

First of all, let me just say how incredibly grateful I am to all of you for your support and encouraging words!!

When I posted my debbie-downer posts, I wasn't expecting much of a response. Not that I needed one, I usually write stuff like that just to make myself feel better. Let's face it - no one ENJOYS reading about negativity.

But when I saw your guys' comments, it made my heart happy! I love each and everyone one of you! :)

I'm still on the search for a job. I have absolutely no idea how people can be unemployed and feel fulfilled - unless they have children or something to occupy their time.

These past 2 weeks have been the most boring 2 weeks of my LIFE!

When I turned 13, I started babysitting, at least 2 or 3 times a week, which kept me busy, making money and out of trouble.

The day I turned 16, I got a job and have had one ever since. So needless to say, this whole no work thing is making me stir crazy!

I'm DYING to have my blog re-done. I want a design, side bars, a button - all that exciting stuff you guys have that I'm too computer illiterate to do myself.

I found this great girl who makes really super cute pages, but being as I'm making no money, I can't afford to pay her the awesome price to do it for me. Pathetic, right?

I hope you guys are all having a great week, and feel lucky that I have all the time in the world to come to the public library to update you guys more often than I was. ;)

I can breathe a bit today

Wow, yesterday's post was a bit depressing. Sorry guys, but it is MY blog after all. ;)

I feel a bit better, but not 100%. I know that I've got a long way to go. I've just got to stop letting my anxiety get the best of me. When it stirs up a horrible, non-realistic thought in my head, I've got to push it out instead of starting to believe it. I am stronger than this!

God, my doctor's gotta start prescribing me Xanex or something because this Prozac just isn't cutting it anymore. ;)

1. If you accidently knick a car in a parking lot..Do you leave a note or do you get the heck out of there?
Just a knick?! That means it's hardly noticeable, which means I'm getting the heck outta there!

2. Love your body or plastic surgery?
I don't love it, but I don't want plastic surgery either. I know too much about the risks, and I'm terrified that I'd be one of those statistics that gets some awful side effect.

3. What about your favorite blog(s) continues to drive you back?
Blogs that I can relate to, blogs that make me laugh out loud, funny pictures, stories, things like that. :) You know who you are! ;)

4. What percent of your blog is BS just to make your life seem more interesting than it really is?
0%. When I read my own blog, I'm in shock that I have any followers, HA! I don't find my life interesting whatsoever!

5. If you had to give up one type of meat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pork. I'm not a big eater of it anyway. I'm a big beef and chicken kinda girl. So I couldn't choose one of those!

6. How often to you eat out?
At least once or twice a week. :-/ I'd probably drop a few pounds and my bank account would appreciate me too if I slowed it down a bit.

7. Skinny jeans or boot cut jeans?
Boot cut. Skinny jeans just don't look all that great on me.

8. If you caught your spouse cheating would you forgive, divorce, or plan your kill?
At first, I'd be planning my kill because I'd have so much rage! But after I calmed down, and the sadness hit, I'd have to divorce. I couldn't forgive for that. I think if I did, it would give him the go-ahead to do it again because he thinks I'll just forgive him a second time!

I'm feeling not like myself..

..which is one of the worst feelings in the world, in my opinion.

I'm feeling more anxious than usual, not myself - not as happy as I should be.

I'm overly emotional, and can hardly explain how I feel right now without feeling like I want to burst into tears.

I am scared to death that I'm letting this take a toll on my relationship.

The BF is the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I refuse to let this fall apart like all of the other good things in my life have in the past.

This is what I'll work the hardest on. I'll work on making our relationship grow.

1. How many pets do you have?
I don't have any of my own. :( I've been wanting a puppy so bad for so long, but since I was in school, I had no time to take care of one. Now, that I'm living with my dad - he's got Rocky, a boston terrier (my little brother) and my sister has Hallie, a chihuahua/rat terrier mix (my sweet niece), whose 4th birthday was yesterday. Love her so much!

2. If you could switch places with anyone in the world for one day, who would it be?
An incredibly successful doctor who does amazing research, someone who thoroughly enjoys their job working with people.

3. What is your favorite money saving tip?
Sadly, I don't have any. If you know of any please pass them my way. I'm the worst person in the world when it comes to saving money. It burns a hole in my pocket, or bank account, whatever.

4. What do you want your kids to be when they grow up?
Whatever they want to be. Anything that makes them happy, and they make a decent living doing. They should be passionate and enjoy waking up for work in the mornings.

5. What is your favorite quote?
I have a lot, here's my top fave 5:

-I'm like the most expensive, exotic item on a gourmet menu. People can wonder about the sensuous delights of the dish, but they can't afford such an expensive luxury.

-Never ask a girl where she's from. If she's from Texas, she'll tell you, and if she's not, there's no need to embarass her.

-I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right. My name is now followed by , NRCMA!!! :) (which stands for Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant) if you're anything like me, you'd be curious as all get out and end up googling it so you can learn something for the day, but thanks to me, you're google-free! I just told ya anyway!

My school BFF text me this morning with her score, and I was like, "Whaaat?! How did you get your packet already?" Come to find out, she didn't - she's a little persistent and overly anxious like me, and she called the school to see if they knew anything.

Luckily, one of our favorite instructors was going ahead and giving us our scores. I will have to wait another 3-4 weeks to get my official packet in the mail with the certificate and all the info on it, but I made a 96 on my exam! :)

If I were employed and had some money, I'd take myself out for a celebration! ;)

This is getting a little bit ridiculous!

So, not only do I not have internet access at my dad's house, but now I'm having issues with my laptop.

First, I get a virus on it, and it barely wants to come on and stay on - no biggie, the BF's roomie is a computer nerd!

So, he fixes that for me, it's all up and running better than ever! Then my adapter has a short in it and it won't charge my already piece of shit battery without me holding it in a certain spot and not moving my body at all.

So annoying!

So, here I am at the library, using a PUBLIC computer instead of the wi-fi on my fabulous laptop, just so I can let you guys know I am still alive.

I've got a splitting headache, and the past 2 days have been the most boring days of my life.

I am now officially "unemployed". My externship is over, and I'm on the look for a job!

The sucky part is that most all doctors or hospitals want people with "experience" - well, if no one will trust me enough to hire me with almost no experience, well then I'm never going to get hired!

So, at this point, I'll take whatever I can get to get some experience under my belt, and start making money obviously, then after 6 months or a year, I can start the job search all over again.

Ugh!

Guess I better go see what's going on over on Facebook before my allotted hour is up on the computer.

And the beginning of a new week is upon us

My extra relaxing weekend of house sitting with the BF is coming to an end. I always hate to see the weekend end, but at the same time, it gets me excited and motivated for the things to come.

This week is the last week of my externship! I sure am going to miss those sweet faced kids and all of the wonderful nurses and doctors at the practice. It's a shame they aren't hiring. I'd take up a job offer if it was given to me!

I only need 24 more hours to be finished, but instead of working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, I am working Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

You see, the nurse who I've been working with under the doctor isn't there on Fridays, so they normally don't schedule check-ups or even many sick patients for that matter.

Well this past month, since I've been there, they've been scheduling them on Fridays, so I am there to get them checked in. The receptionist didn't realize I was coming up on my last week already (it's gone by SO fast) and she had been scheduling Friday patients.

So, being the oh so sweet person that I am, I offered to work my last 8 hours on this Friday so that way they wouldn't have to go through the hassle of calling all the patients back and rescheduling.

Very good samaritan-ish of me, right?

This Wednesday, my best friend is coming to see me! I am stoked. We always have such a blast when we see one another. I love her like a sister!

1. What kind of athlete has the hottest body?
Don't they all have pretty hot bods? I mean, they are in tip-top shape, so they all look pretty great to me. I will say though that a man's ass looks pretty nice in baseball pants. ;)

2. Are you a planner or a procrastinator?
Ahh, I'm a nice balance of both. I'm a planner in the sense that, I've always got to know what's going down. I don't like to be left in the cold. I make lists, and keep things in order. HOWEVER, I usually wait until the very last minute to do the things on my very well thought out lists.

3. Diet or regular (soda)?
I'm not a big soda drinker to begin with, but when I do drink soda, I like to drink the regular ones that trick you into thinking they are diet. You know, Coke Zero, Pepsi Zero - they taste like the real thing, instead of having that flat, non-carbonated taste most diet drinks have.

4. What's your one "must have" for Fall?
Hot boots. 'Nuff said.

5. What's your favorite fast food restaurant?
Oh, I have so many! If I would save the money that I spend eating out, I'd be a billionaire by now! I'm going to go with, ahhh this is so hard! Chick-fil-a, Subway (is that considered fast food?), Sonic and Chicken Express.

6. What do you think is the sexiest profession for a guy?
Whatever he TRULY loves doing. If he doesn't mind waking up to go to work, enjoys his job, comes home happy, and makes a good living - well that's damn sexy to me!

7. Did you wear braces?
Not as a kid, no. But now that I'm an adult, my dentist has referred me to an orthodontist because I need them. My thoughts are that I'm too old to have metal in my mouth, so let's possibly discuss Invisalign! God knows I can't afford to look any younger than I already do.

8. Would you rather have a guy that's super sexy or kind?
My BF is one of the kindest people I know, and to me, that's super sexy! ;)

I guess what they say is true

Certain designs, colors, patterns can make you look AND feel fat!

Yesterday, was a bit of a "fat day" for me. I know you ladies understand me when I say this. Men, not so much. The BF doesn't really get it when I say that I'm having a fat day. It's so not fair that men never have these unwanted days. Why do we women have to go through it ALL?

Anyway, today was a total waste of the day. We have literally lounged around in our jammies all day.

The BF's in the living room watching Star Wars, or some other lame movie that I refuse to watch with him, and I'm in the office watching P.S. I Love You. A movie that he refuses to watch, which I think is totally crazy! ;)

I finally decided I wanted to get up, shower and do something with myself. I even decided on wearing a semi-cute outfit and doing my hair instead of throwing on sweats and a tank, and leaving my hair in a wet, messy, wavy bun.

Let's face it, during the week, I work at a pediatrician's office. They don't care if I make myself up and the kids surely don't care what I look like, so I wear scrubs (which are basically pajamas) and my hair is up EVERY day.

Gets kinda boring, ya know?

So it was nice to do my hair this late afternoon. Always makes me feel good about myself when I have my hair done, for whatever reason!

Back to the actual point I was trying to make. Sorry, I tend to get off subject a bit more than I intend to.

I put on a new shirt that I got last week for the first time, and realized that I looked HUGE, not necessarily outward, but my torso looked so wide! (maybe I should've tried it on first, oops!)

Let me also say that being incredibly short - (I'm right under 5 foot), I don't have a very long torso to begin with, so I can't have clothes making it look even shorter, right?!

Well, this shirt has HORIZONTAL STRIPES!

I know that vertical stripes enlongate the body, and horizontal stripes do the exact opposite.

And today, I'm exhibit A. Ugh!

At least it's a black shirt. Black is slimming, right?

Lately, I've been trying to add more color to my wardrobe. Not that I am a boring, goth girl, but a lot of my clothes are neutral colors. I have lots of black, gray, dark navy, and white. Every now and then I try and throw my signature color (my favorite color) red into the mix as well.

My outfit today is khaki shorts - straight from American Eagle (they fit me so amazingly!) and a black top with white stripes, all complete with black sandals.

See how boring I can be?! I just like to think that my hot pink pedicure makes it more exciting. :)

I'm on the verge of a miniature meltdown!

Can I just say THAT?!

Living with my dad is about to make me a crazy woman. As if I'm not already one! Seriously, my anxiety level increases everyday.

Don't get me, I love him with all my heart, but he's a tough man to live with! My brother says it's because we're so much alike. ;) Whatever it is!

Yesterday, before I left for work, I put a pulled pork recipe in the crockpot that would be done by the time I got off, and we could all have dinner. I came home and my dad asks, "Did you mean to turn that on when you left?"

"Um, yeah Dad, I did." He claims it wasn't plugged in, which I know it was because I distinctly remember plugging it in.

I go in there to see that he did plug it in for me, and he turned it on, (thanks Dad) but there's a ton of unknown liquid in there as well. So, I yell from the kitchen, "What the hell did you do to it?!" Dad responds with, "I noticed you forgot to put water in there, so I filled it up for you."

WTF?!

"But Dad, it didn't need any water. If it needed anything else than what was already in it, I would have asked you to add to it when you got home, since I didn't, it was fine being LEFT ALONE!"

He says, "Well I just don't see how anything can cook at all without any water."

He wants me to help out by cooking, but when I do, he tries to take control!

Ughhhh, MEN! I hate living with 'em. HA!

Plus, this past week, I have been sick as hell! Monday morning started with a runny nose and a sore throat. Nothing too major, so I took some allergy medicine and blew it off. By the end of the day, I was weak and achy.

Tuesday morning, felt like DEATH! I seriously had all of my energy zapped from me. I was laying in my bed, close to having my little sister take me to the emergency room. I couldn't get out of bed without wheezing and being completely short of breath.

Wednesday, death even worse! I was sent home from my extern site. One of those little germy kids got me sick, I'm sure of it!

Thursday, I can breathe!!! It's a miracle! Back to work. Still sucking down sudafed and tylenol.

Friday, not 100% yet, because I've still got the yuck cough and plenty of phlegm to go around (TMI, I know, sorry!) but feeling MUCH better. :)

Plus, I miss you guys like crazy. I feel like the worst blog friend ever because I haven't been keeping up and updating as often as I was or would like to.

I swear on everything that is holy, that I will be back in action as soon as I get a job and find a place of my own. :)

Thankfully, it's the weekend and the BF and I are house-sitting for his parents who are out of town.

We headed up to the taco joint earlier, this place serves FREE BEER. Yes, I said free. It's awesome. So needless to say, I'm feelin' good right now.

The BF's out in the garage with some neighbors watching baseball, I let him know it was imperative that I update my blog because I do anything else, which includes having another drink!

Now that I've done so, I must get back to my girlfriend duties. ;) See you guys tomorrow. Lots of love!

I feel SO unproductive today. The BF and I slept until noon, and we're STILL in bed. Ugh!

Oh well, I'll just say I deserve it, since I work so hard during the week. ;)

Not so much, they kinda are pedophile-ish to me. The BF rocks a sexy goatee though. ;)

2. What's the last concert you've been to?
Bret Michaels (yummy) with Fuel opening. Funny story - when the concert was over, I looked to the BF and said, "Oh, I really wanna make out with him." He responded with, "Thanks babe, love you too!" HAHA!

3. What was your favorite 80s sitcom?
The Facts of Life! Loved that show as a kid. Total Nick @ Nite kinda girl here.

4. Were you named after anyone?
No, I have the most boring, common name in all of America. My mom had the most beautiful name picked out for me, that my dad hated. So, she compiled a list of other names she liked, and mine was the only one he liked. So, I'm stuck with "Amber Nicole" Thanks dad for the plain jane name! Love ya!

5. When you buy new clothes, do you wash before wearing?
No, I never do. To me, they are already clean. Well, wait, people try them on - ewwww, maybe I will start washing!

6. If you didn't blog what would you do with your spare time?
Probably finish all of the books that the BF's mom has let me borrow. Seriously, they are filling up my bookshelf, and I haven't started any of them! To think, I used to always have my nose buried in a book. Yes, I'm a closet nerd.

7. What is your favorite department store?
I'm going to say Macy's. Love it!

8. If you were to get laser hair removal, where would you get it?
Been there, done that. One of the best decisions I ever made, totally helped me with something I had a complex about, and I'd do it again! I also recommend it to anyone. :)

Seriously, is my extern ever going to end so I can get a job, my own place, internet access, etc?!

No, I love my extern but I really am ready to start getting paid somewhere. It's hard being unemployed, and eating pb&j for dinner because I can't afford to go pick up Taco Bueno or something else ridiculously bad for me.

Which by the way, I'm totally craving Mexican food right now, drooooool!

This past Friday, I took my NRCMA exam. The exam that gets me certified as a medical assistant. Certification=more moolah! I'm all about it. I was super nervous, and had myself all psyched out the night before/morning of, which I always do, but the test ended up being fairly easy for me. There were 200 questions, and there was only about 5 that I really had to think of the answer on. So, we'll see in about 2 weeks if I passed! ;)

My calves have been killing me all weekend! Seriously, when I get out of bed, it hurts to put all of my body weight on my legs. It's awful. I don't know what I did.

The BF says it's because we went out with some friends and played pool on Friday night. Does he seriously think I'm THAT outta shape?! Ugh. I didn't even play for that long because I suck at it anyway. I have ZERO hand-eye coordination.

I better get off here and spend some time with the BF before he has to leave me for work.

1. Are you a neat or messy sleeper?
I'm ridiculously neat when I sleep. Half of the time, I will wake up in the exact same position I fell asleep in. My covers are barely moved, and I look so peaceful. :) This makes me a good bed buddy right? Well, besides the fact that I snore. ;)

2. Fill in the blank. I wish I were more [BLANK].
I wish I were more calm. I wish I didn't let things get to me. I wish I were laidback and carefree. The BF has this down pat, I however, can not grasp the concept. Hey, opposites attract, right? ;)

3. What is something you wish you would've been warned about?
That my mom really does know EVERYthing. I was NOT fooling her when I was a teenager. She knows what I'm doing, and why I'm doing it. She's not lying when she says, "I've been your age before." The older I get, the more I realize, my mom really was trying to help me along the way when I thought she was just nagging me.

4. What was the best thing you ever found at a garage sale?
I don't "garage sale" that often. Not because I don't want to, but because I don't have the patience to drive all around town to dig through crap find treasures. I just don't have time. Plus it's hot as hell here. I believe I'll stay in the A/C, thanks!

5. If you could have any meal brought to you right now, what would it be?
Mmm, I'll take some steak fajitas, with lots of cheese and pico de gallo. Chips and hot sauce too. A margarita, and I'll take some strawberry cheesecake for dessert. :) Great, now I'm salivating!

When I logged on to my blogger dashboard, I saw that I had one less follower. I'm DEVASTATED!!!

I know they probably have given up on me because I don't update as much anymore, which still upsets me. Plus, my computer has a freakin' virus on it right now, so not only do I not have internet access at my place of residence, but when I'm at the BF's I have to use HIS computer.

So annoying!

This week, the first week of August, is the place for the death anniversaries of 4 people who were/are very special to me.

It sucks, but at the same time, I enjoy reflecting back on all of the special times I had with those loved ones.

Can you guys believe it's already August? I don't know about you guys, but July totally flew by for me!

I guess I shouldn't complain, the sooner we get out of the summer months, the sooner we will be out of 100+ degree weather. The BF's car thermometer read 109 degrees today.

I could possibly have a heatstroke within the next week.

1. If you were to win an award today, what would it be for?
This is really tough. Give me a minute to come up with something clever........ prettiest hair color. :) I got my hair done yesterday as a late birthday gift from the BF's mom, and it looks gorgeous! Not to mention, still smells delicious. Don't you love getting your hair done?! The only downfall is you can never style it the exact way the salon did. So annoying.

Wow, totally got off track there, oops! :)

2. What is your shoe style?
All kinds! My closet is filled with every type of shoe. I love flip flops, obviously. Flats are always classy, and every girl needs a few pairs of sexy heels. Heels make me feel so sultry. Probably because I'm the shortest girl, EVER! Anything to add height is nice. ;)

3. Does your car reflect your personality?
I'd say yes and no. It's small and cute, like me, obviously. :) But I've always wanted an SUV, for whatever reason, so who knows?!

4. If you could take over someone's body for a day, who would you choose?
Obviously someone with a hot bod. I wouldn't want to walk around lookin' like an ugly girl now would I? I'm going to go with Jennifer Aniston. She's so toned and looks awesome for a 40+ woman. Guess it helps that she's never had any babies right?!

5. Love or be loved?
Since this is my blog, and I make the rules, I'm going to pick both. :)

6. If you were on death row, what last meal would you choose?
Oh gosh, I'd eat until I was miserably full. Might as well die happy right?! I'd want a big fat juicy steak cooked medium, with lots of steak sauce, please! Let's add some garlic mashed potatoes and garlic bread too. (who cares if I die with bad breath?) This meal sounds totally manly, so let's go ahead and throw a caesar salad in there too, just for kicks! ;)

7. Have you been on vacation this summer, if so where?
No, I haven't. Sad to say, but it's still been a semi fun summer nonetheless. School has totally put a damper on my vacay/social life, so I haven't done a lot in the past 8 months or so.

8. What is your favorite food related guilty pleasure?
I loooove salt. Seriously, salt tastes good on EVERYTHING. Okay, maybe not everything, but pretty damn close. I put entirely too much on most of the food that I eat.

Let me leave you guys with this - I want your opinion.

The BF's mom and I went shopping yesterday after my hair appointment. We got to talking with the cashier, and it came up that the lady I was with was my BF's mom. The girl at the cash register looked at me and said, "Seriously, that's your boyfriend's mom? My boyfriend would KILL me if I went shopping or hung out with his mom. I never really see her."

I then ask how long they have been together, and she tells me only since March.

Okay, well me and my BF have been together for almost 2 years, but still, his mom and I have always been super close.

To me, it's important for my boyfriend's parents to like me, and vice versa. Right?

Both the BF's mom and the BF said the girl at the store's BF didn't want her around his mom because there was probably another girl in the picture.

Kinda makes sense right? I never thought of it like that until they mentioned it to me.
