Pro-life or Pro-choice?

So, I normally don't like to get all political or in debate about things on my blog. However, today I drove past some protesters, and I just can't stop thinking about them!

On my way to the dreaded library, (UGH!) I pass by an abortion clinic. I've passed by this place a couple of times, and always noticed people outside, but never really paid much attention.

I guess I'm just too glued to my BlackBerry and jammin' out to my tunes to notice my surroundings.

Yes, I text AND Facebook while driving. Sue me! I get enough flack about this from the BF!

Anyhow!

Today, I actually noticed that they were holding signs, and they offered numbers for pregnant women who needed assistance, and things of that sort. But there were also signs that made these women feel bad, I'm sure. Such as "Women who abort usually regret".

Which may be true, but let the poor woman who's obviously in a dire situation realize this on her own.

This is a topic I've always been on the fence on.

I, myself, don't think I could EVER abort a child that I created. However, I know many people who have done this, two of the women being two of the closest to me, and I do not judge anyone who makes this decision.

I also am not a fan of abortion when it's just because, "oops the condom broke" or "omg I'm too young and can't afford a baby". My belief in that situation is, if you're grown enough to lay down and spread your legs, then you're grown enough to raise the outcome!

We are all entitled to our own opinions, right?

I know there are circumstances in which a woman was drugged and/or raped, those are more understandable. Either way, I do not judge. I just have my own belief.

I do however, give MAD props to the protesters. Some people hate them, honk at them, yell at them, but I have respect for people who have such a strong belief in something, (anything, not just abortion) that they will let it be known no matter the consequences.

Whew, now that I've gotten that off my chest, I can enjoy the rest of my half day off from work! ;)

P.S. I realize there are plenty of people who are going to disagree with me, and that's fine. It's expected, but this is my blog, and if you want to bash me, well don't do it here. I'm open to hearing your opinion, but don't hate me for mine.

I'm pretty close to the same as you in my opinion.
I don't think it should be used(abused) as a form of birth control. People are NOT careful enough. Yeah, there are those RARE occasions, but most of the time you could have tried a lot harder to not get pregnant.
I also think there are times when it can be the best option(rape, incest, mothers life at risk, etc).
I do feel like people should have the chance to make that choice on their own.

Tsk tsk! You would get lots and lots of tickets here in LA! I just cant understand why people just cant DRIVE! Its incredibly dangerous. But to each their own right?! Anywhoodle there must be something special going on because the protesters in my area have been doing nightly vigils and such. I agree with you I would never abort, and there are very few exceptions but it is not a birth control! Like Katie says there are SO many ways to prevent an unwanted pregnancy! Ok I am done =D

I agree with you in that I am not one to judge I have made my own mistakes. I have never been faced with this decision however, If i have ever had to deal with this I am adult enough to follow through with my decisions. I will stop there because I could go on forever!
I hope you have a great friday!
Thanks for the comment!

I agree with you. While I totally frown on it as a form of birth control, I'm okay with it being used in cases of rape and incest.
I am going to say, however, shamey-shamey on texting and FBing while driving.

No need to apologize, you spoke your mind very tactfully! I'm pro-life - though I'd NEVER judge someone who's done it, everyone knows their own situation (like after a rape), but I just don't think it's the baby's fault (and you could always give the baby adoption too). It's like, 2 wrongs don't make a right, you know - I believe the child is already a person at conception. But then again, people in an unwanted pregnancy can be in EXTREMELY stressful situations, so I would NEVER judge someone who's made that choice, for whatever reason.
Anyway, thanks for the visit! :)

Touchy Subject... (The texting and driving subject) hahahah

I am pretty much the same.. I could NEVER judge any woman for aborting a baby. I don't know if I could do it myself but I just think everyone deserves the right to choose for themselves.

I used to be very religious in HS. I managed a christian store and one of my employees was raped and got pregnant. She actually had the baby and I watched the struggle she went through. Her religious views wouldnt allow her to have an abortion. I couldn't believe that she went through so much pain.... UGH! I hope that i never have to deal with that. And I hope that people arent quick to judge cuz you just never know what is going on in peoples lives.. XO!

Don't text and drive girl!!

I am similar to you in your beliefs. I don't think I could do it myself, but it's not my place to judge others.
